Pastor Joenathan Hunter, Sr.
Pastor Joenathan Hunter, Sr., born in Pompano Beach, Florida is the 9th of 13 children. Married in 1971 to Joyce Lewis Hunter, he is the father of three children and five grandchildren. He accepted the call to the ministry in 1977 and was ordained in 1981. He is the Founder of Prayer Temple Church of God in Christ of Newark Delaware which was established on December 18, 1983. He served for seven (7) years as Superintendent of the Southern District of the Delaware Churches of God in Christ. He also served four years as Superintendent of the Northeastern District of the Pennsylvania Eastern Jurisdiction Churches of God in Christ. Although Prayer Temple has been an independent ministry since 2005, Pastor Hunter is grateful for the opportunity to serve this congregation as the shepherd of God's sheep.
